This Privacy Policy describes how MacroCheck AI ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our mobile application MacroCheck AI (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Who we are

MacroCheck AI is a nutrition and fitness tracking application. For privacy-related requests, contact us at: support@macrocheckai.com.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the App, we may collect:

• Account information: email address, display name, and authentication identifiers when you sign in with Google.
• Profile and health-related data you provide: age, sex, height, weight, goal weight, activity level, unit preferences, and daily nutrition targets.
• Food and activity logs: meals, calories, macronutrients, fiber, portions, dates, custom foods, and barcode lookups.
• Photos: meal photos you choose to capture or upload for food logging or AI analysis. Photos may be stored on your device and associated with your account data.
• Weight history: weight entries you log over time.
• Subscription and purchase information: subscription status, product identifiers, and billing-related metadata processed through Google Play, Apple App Store, and RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your full payment card number.
• Usage analytics and app interactions: app opens, screen views, sign-up and setup progress, meal logging actions, paywall and subscription funnel events, feature usage, notification taps, and aggregated engagement signals collected through Firebase Analytics / Google Analytics to understand and improve the App.
• Device and diagnostic data: crash logs, error reports, and basic app diagnostics via Firebase Crashlytics to improve stability.
• Optional health platform data: if you enable Apple Health or Health Connect, we may read activity-related data (such as steps or energy expenditure) according to the permissions you grant. You can disable this at any time in App settings.
• AI interaction data: text prompts, meal descriptions, and images you submit for AI-powered nutrition estimates or coaching features.

3. How we use information

We use your information to:

• Provide core App features (tracking, targets, progress, widgets, notifications).
• Authenticate your account and sync data across devices.
• Generate personalized calorie and macro targets based on your profile.
• Process AI-powered meal analysis and coaching when you use those features.
• Manage premium subscriptions and restore purchases.
• Measure aggregated usage, engagement, feature adoption, and subscription funnel performance.
• Improve reliability, fix bugs, and prevent abuse.
• Respond to support and legal requests.

4. AI processing disclaimer

MacroCheck AI uses artificial intelligence to estimate nutrition information from photos, text, and related inputs. AI-generated estimates are approximate and may not be exact. They are provided for convenience and general wellness tracking only.

When you use AI features, relevant content (such as meal photos or text descriptions) is sent to our secure backend for processing. We do not embed private AI keys in the App.

MacroCheck AI is not medical advice. The App does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any disease. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions, pregnancy, eating disorders, or other health conditions.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate the App:

• Google Firebase / Google Analytics — authentication, cloud database (Firestore), usage analytics, and crash reporting (Crashlytics).
• Google Sign-In — account login.
• AI processing — meal analysis and coaching (via our secure backend).
• RevenueCat — subscription management and purchase validation.
• Google Play / Apple App Store — in-app purchases and billing.
• Apple Health / Health Connect — only if you opt in, according to your device permissions.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not send email addresses, food names, meal photos, chat text, or exact weight values to Firebase Analytics / Google Analytics. Analytics events use limited, aggregated, or bucketed values such as plan type, meal source, paywall source, calorie-goal range, water-log bucket, or streak bucket.

6. Data storage and security

Account and log data are stored in Google Firebase/Firestore. Meal photos may be stored locally on your device. We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for data in transit. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

7. Data retention

We retain your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the App. You can delete older meal photos or food entries from Settings → Manage Storage. See Delete your data for full steps. Exported data can be generated from the same screen.

To delete your entire account and associated cloud data, use Delete your account (in-app: Profile → Delete account, or email support@macrocheckai.com from the address linked to your account).

8. Your choices and rights

• Access and export: use in-app export (Settings → Manage Storage).
• Delete logs: use in-app cleanup tools for photos and food entries.
• Health sync: disable Apple Health / Health Connect in Settings.
• Notifications: disable in App settings or device settings.
• Subscriptions: manage or cancel via Google Play or App Store account settings; use Restore Purchases in the App when switching devices.

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, objection). Contact us to exercise these rights.

9. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us data.

10. International users

Your information may be processed in countries where we or our service providers operate, including the United States. By using the App, you consent to this processing subject to applicable law.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
